Community Tree Day

Planting Together for a Greener Greenville

Community Tree Day is ReLeaf’s annual mass tree-planting event, held each fall and winter during the planting season. Volunteers from across Greenville come together to plant dozens of trees in just a few short hours—transforming neighborhoods and strengthening our city’s urban forest.

The tradition began in 2011 through the leadership of Public Works’ Ken Jackson and Kevin Heifferon. Since then, Community Tree Day has grown into a cornerstone event that brings residents, city staff, and community organizations together to improve our shared landscape.

The goal is simple: to promote community involvement and participation in shaping a greener, healthier city by planting trees where they are needed most. ReLeaf is proud to lead this effort alongside dedicated partners and neighbors each year.
